Complete Exterior Restoration

The over 35 years of wear and tear on this cedar sided building had a significant negative effect on the value and look of this strata complex. A complete exterior restoration was the only appropriate long term cost effective solution versus the short sighted approach of funding on-going small repairs.

Challenges

As a residential building Rockport had to work within the parameters of maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for the residents during all types of weather conditions. Throughout the 14 month project Rockport employed its proven policies and procedures to ensure that no services were interrupted and maintained positive and respectful communications with all the residents and interested parties. The existence of less than desirable metal cladding on the balconies required Rockport to create a redesign solution for a more effective and attractive alternative.

Highlights

Including normal issues associated with major exterior restoration the Willow project also required the complete demolition of balconies and all existing cedar siding. Due to the deterioration of this older building Rockport also had to complete significant structural water damage repairs throughout the building. This project was finished on schedule and within budget.

Outcome

The current value of each and every strata unit within the Willow complex has been substantially improved. This physically attractive complex now features new window and door installations; new balconies, coatings and handrails; new metal roofing, flashings and rain-screen and new Hardie board siding and trims.
